Logo – avi8rix
I often muse that “avi8rix” is my true name. Its use as an e-mail address and license plate started in the mid-1990s, in the midst of the training and certification marathon. While learning to use Illustrator software in the 2000-2001 time frame, I decided to create a personal logo. The airplane was an obvious foundation element, and it was easy to create from a series of ovals. I liked the Pristina font for the name, because it is cheery and jaunty without being difficult to read. The left-justified placement of the “avi8rix” element was obvious; “x” doubles as the propeller. The yellow and blue colors represent the flyer’s love of sun and sky, and I recently added elements of the AZ state flag in honor of my adopted home state.
